Abigail's Makeover

Abigail wanted to have a makeover one day and then of course take pictures of it.  Ryan quickly joined in by holding up a towel for the back drop.

Emily's Sweet 16

On July 11, Emily turned 16.  She got the traditional breakfast in bed.
After breakfast she opened her presents.  She was hoping for a car, but she got an i phone instead.  She will have to use Jeff's truck for now.

We did cake and ice cream later that night with Grandpa and Annabell.  Annabell's birthday is on the 10th so we always celebrate the two together.  Emily decided she wanted oreo cheesecake instead of normal cake.

Later that night we went to the drive-in movies for her birthday.  This is the first time we have ever been.  It was a lot of fun.  It is hard to believe Emily is 16.  It's crazy to think she is old enough to drive and date.  I'm glad she isn't really into boys yet.

We decided it would be fun to throw her a "Sweet" 16 party.  She didn't like the idea as well so we had to compromise some.  I got to make "sweet" treats, but she got to do a video scavenger hunt for the main part of the party.  I think everyone had a good time.

Emily was able to take her drivers test the week after she turned 16.  She was really nervous about passing, but she got it on her first try.  We all love Emily and are so thankful she is a part of our family!

4th of July

This year for the 4th we decided to drive to Dallas for an FC Dallas soccer game and fireworks.  The kids were excited to go, but they didn't want to miss out on all the fireworks so we did some the night before.

I used the time traveling to Dallas to read more of the manual for my camera.  Here are some of the shots I took.

When we got to Dallas we had enough time to go to lunch and catch a movie.  The older kids went with Jeff to "The Lone Ranger" and I took the younger kids to "Dispicable Me 2" .  Everyone enjoyed the movies.  We headed to the game next.  This was our first time to watch a professional team live.  It was a lot of fun.  We were all surprised at just how physical everyone was.  Watching it on TV you don't see as much of the physical part.

When the game ended we enjoyed the fireworks.

We all had a wonderful 4th of July!!
